Thank you for the superb course.The pictures have come back and they are fine. I have benefited immeasurably - particularly from your exposition of lighting theory. I realised afterwards that what I had been trying to piece together over twenty-five years from books and demonstrations etc. suddenly clicked into place -in half an hour. It is not very often that I am taken to writing letters of this nature, but having just received back from the processors some of the best photographs I think I have ever taken, I felt that I must put pen to paper.
The three day portrait and wedding course which I attended last weekend, proved to be an excellent insight into (what was for me the frightening world of wedding photography. Your clear concise instruction and innovative ideas had me coming away from Southampton brimming with confidence and biting at the bit, to get my teeth into a real wedding. The practical hands-on approach methods of instruction adopted proved to be a real confidence booster. Before I came down, I think I had some ideas about what I wanted to learn, but also I needed some reassurance that what I was doing was O.K. (or not as the case may be.) You certainly made us feel welcome, and then made us work, but it was all in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Some of the tricks we picked up from you seem so simple, that I was left thinking to myself "why didn't I think of that?" and yet without your obvious experience and willingness to teach us, I probably never would have.
